Policies and Regulations

Emergency Procedures:

Emergencies are unexpected, unpredictable events that take many forms. A crisis is a critical time that must be handled and responded to in an efficient and effective manner. Please be aware of the recommended guidelines in the case of a critical event.

If you notice a fire on the campus, please notify someone in authority immediately. In the event of a fire, students will follow the exits and evacuate the building in a quick, safe manner.

Severe Weather:

If severe weather is imminent, please check your local radio or television stations to determine if the campus is closed. You are encouraged not to place yourself in danger during severe weather. If the situation is critical, you are advised to stay off the road.

If school is already in session, the administration will monitor the situation and make the best decision that will ensure everyone’s safety. Safe places will be designated in the building and classes will be notified of the need to move to these areas.

Lock Down Situations:

This is a critical situation that will require keeping students safe from danger outside or inside the building. In most situations, the perimeter doors to the building will be locked and will remain locked until the danger or issue is removed. To enable everyone’s safety, no one will be allowed to enter or leave the building until the authorities authorize such a release.

It is important that all students report any situation that appears out of the ordinary or that is known to be dangerous. In such emergencies call the ICILS office at 281-561-0809 to report the situation and ask for assistance. If danger is imminent, call 911.
